Water, the unconscious — sex is where we dive in.
Here we do not become animal,
We remember that we are animal

The repression of this space of knowledge — the underworld, instinct,
means that sex itself cannot be free

(until we are liberated to feel, how can we be expected to fuck?)

Sexual proclivity does not live in the deep psyche because it is repressed, but because

this is where it lives

We have mistakenly emphasised that sexual liberation relies on bringing this into the light, up from below, when it is us who must descend into the dark,
and value this.

Most rituals involve these shifts — a journey to another place, liminality — before a return to the everyday; we’ve all but lost our rituals in the West
